SEASON IN REVIEW AS OF 9/25

Since starting the 2011 season 1W-5L,  the Screaming Eagles have gone 4W-3L.  During the first NEAC conference week,  the Eagles went 2W-2L, including a 4 set victory over arch rival St. Joe's of Brooklyn at home and their first ever NEAC win against SUNY Cobleskill.

This past week, the Eagles earned their 2nd Conference win vs. Penn State - Abbington and ended the week 2W-1L with a win over Cooper Union.  The Eagles have accomplished this despite losing starting setter Amy Cooper for 4 full matches thus far.  The team record over that stretch is 2W-2L behind the outstanding effort of freshman backup setter Jenae Goodson who is playing the position for the first time in her volleyball career. The team has 5 matches from 9/27 through 10/2, including 3 more NEAC matches as they fight to get to .500 for the season.

The CSE Volleyball Record book is literally being rewritten after each match as the team is breaking individual season records almost every time they step on the court.  The defense is statistically, at this point in the season, the best the school has ever seen.  There are 3 players that are on pace to hit for over 150 kills and 2 that can reach 200 at current pace.  That also would be a season best in the history of the school.  The present of Eagles Volleyball looks bright but the future looks even brighter as all of these accomplishments are being achieved by mostly freshman and sophomores.
