SCREAMING EAGLES EARN THEIR FIRST WIN OF THE 2011 CAMPAIGN

CSE traveled to Baruch College in NY to take on Yeshiva University on Wednesday.  The Eagles were looking to build off their solid performance this past weekend against some tough competition and did not disappoint.  Although the team had a tough time early from the service line and their passing wasn't quite as sharp as it had been this past weekend, the offense was still highly effective and the Eagles were able to  dominate the Macabees at the net.

CSE turned relatively close sets 1 and 2 into routs late as the size of St. Elizabeth's front line was too much for Yeshiva to handle.  Katie Cooper and Captain Kareemah Muhammad led a balanced attack with 10 kills each while Subhana Wrights and Captain Chanice Sears dropped 11 kills total out of the middle.

The Eagles dominated the latter part of the second set and the third thanks to their serving.  The Eagles scored 21 aces from the service line led by opposite freshman Jenae Goodson (7) and Captain Amy Cooper with 5.  Jenae and Amy hit for 10 of their aces in the third set while the team had only 1 reception error.  The 10 kills for the set were the final piece in a dominant performance that saw the Eagles allow only 10 points in the set on route to the win.

The Eagles go to Bryn Athyn this Saturday for three matches.
