Saint Elizabeth took to the floor on day 2 with the task of
taking on the Bison of Gallaudet University, last year’s #2 team in the
conference and eventual winner of the NEAC Tournament and conference
representative to the NCAA tournament.
The Bison had an unblemished record in the NEAC coming into the day and
it remained so in convincing fashion against the Eagles. Gallaudet jumped out to a 9-1 lead in
set 1 and never looked back, cruising to a 25-12 set 1 win.
Set 2 began much the same way with the Bison out in front
12-1 before the Eagles got on track.
The Bison were relentless and punished every CSE error to knock off the
Eagles 25-7 in set 2.
Set 3 proved to be more of the same as Gallaudet jumped out
front early 9-1 lead and just stymied the Eagle offense in route to a convincing
25-7 set and match victory.
Subhana Wrights led the Eagles yet again, hitting for 6
kills while Kareemah Muhammad chipped in 4 in the defeat. Eagles drop to 12W-7L.
