EAGLES FALL TO STORM IN 3 DESPITE GOOD EFFORT

CSE never could recover from their slow start, falling to Keuka College in 3 sets 9-25, 15-25, 19-25.
The first set started off slow for the Screaming Eagles quickly falling behind 9-1. The Eagles finally got into their groove to pull to within 12-5. Katie cooper led the comeback with multiple digs to help the Eagles get within 17-8. Keuka proved to be too much in the rest of the first set as they scored 7 of the next 8 points to take the first set 25-9.
The second set started out much better for the Screaming Eagles.  Trailing 6-3, Kareemah Muhammad brought the Eagles to within 1 with 2 straight service points. The Storm, however, kept the pressure on, notching 10 of the next 11 points to jump out to a 16-6 lead.  Subhana Wrights, once again led CSE at the net. Trailing 20-9, Subhana stuffed a spike attempt from Keuka, earning the point.  Riding the momentum, the Eagles took the next 3 points to pull within 20-13. The Eagles could not keep the momentum going, however, as they dropped the second set 25-15.
In the third set, the Storm once again jumped out to a quick lead. Keuka reeled off 7 straight points to take a 13-4 lead, resulting in a timeout by Coach Martins.  After the timeout, CSE took the next 2 points to edge closer to the lead.  The most exciting point of the set was won by CSE, thanks to a perfectly placed shot by senior Cheyenne Grant.  That point seemed to ignite the Eagles as they pulled to within 16-10.  Despite being down 23-14, the Eagles kept on fighting to pull to within 23-17. The Eagles however, could not pull off the comeback, eventually losing the set 25-19.
Nicole Morera led the team with 12 digs as well as 2 service aces. Cheyenne Grant had 24 set assists for the Screaming Eagles.
