The Screaming Eagles took on the Cazenovia Wildcats in day 1 of the NEAC Conference weekend at SUNY Cobleskill.
CSE started off strong, taking a an early 3-1 lead and later extended it to 11-7. But the Wildcats went on a 7-0 run sustained by 5 Eagle errors that pushed Cazenovia out front to a 14-12 lead. After an Amy Cooper kill gave the ball back to CSE, Cazenovia continued to pour on the pressure by going on a 6-4 run that pushed the Wildcats to a 20-16 lead. Cazenovia closed the set out 25-21 after a CSE service error at 24-21. The Eagles hit for 10 kills and 2 aces in the set with Subhana Wrights leading the way with 2 kills and 3 blocks.

The Wildcats opened a slight 2 point lead midway through the match (10-12) but the Eagles continued to fight back into the match and tied it at 16-16 after a Wildcat service error. Then the wheels came off the Eagle serve receive and after 3 aces and a couple of kills by Cazenovia, CSE found themselves in a 23-19 hole they could not recover from and fell 25-20. After 5 Cazenovia errors, CSE managed to tie the set at 19 before another service error gave the lead and ball to Cazenovia. After 2 late errors by the Eagles, Cazenovia saw themselves 1 point away from a 4 set victory at 24-21 before a passing error gave the Eagles life at 22-24.
