SENIORS HONORED AT SUNDAY'S MATCHES

This past Sunday,  CSE hosted College of Staten Island and Sarah Lawrence College at the Nest in Morristown.  Although the matches were exciting and very competitive, the day was about the 3 seniors who were playing in their last season,  Captain Samantha St. Germain,   Captain Carmela Sellitto and Jackie Scott.  All 3 were recognized for their efforts this season and throughout their careers and received tokens of appreciation from their teammates.  I would personally like to thank these women for their amazing spirit, dedication and commitment to the team and to the school.

Unfortunately, the Eagles were not able to carry the positive emotion in the Nest to a win or two.  CSE fell to CSI in 3, 25-27, 17-25 and 18-25  and lost as well to Sarah Lawrence 13-25, 23-25 and 20-25.

Kareemah Muhammad struck for 14 kills in the 2 matches while Captain Chanice Sears tallied 17, including a 10 kill effort versus CSI, her first double digit kill output of the season.  Chanice also contributed 12 digs and 4 aces.  Captain Samantha St. Germain had a fantastic day as well, distributing 33 assists and getting 16 digs.  Jackie Scott was the defensive star,  leading the team with 19 total digs in 2 matches.
