EAGLES GET WINGS CLIPPED BY THE LEHMAN LIGHTNING

The Eagles lost to the Lehman College Lightning yesterday in a tough, tight matchup.  The Lehman offense gave the Eagles fits through the entire matchup but the St. Elizabeth serving game and defensive play kept the Eagles in the mix.  Chanice Sears and Carmela Sellitto anchored a solid defense while Kareemah Muhammad was yet again the team's kill leader.  Samantha St. Germain quarterbacked a productive offense although the Lightning were far more efficient in this respect.  Luisa Solano and Maria Machuca came off the bench and provided an instant spark from the service line, forcing Lehman into passing errors and predictable offensive chances. The difference in the match was the Lightning's ability to get a kill in key times while the CSE Eagles couldn't convert their opportunities.

CSE fell 25-20, 25-20 and 25-20.
