EAGLES END SEASON WITH MANHATTANVILLE VALIANTS

The CSE Eagles closed out the 2010 campaign with a match at the Nest versus the Knights of Manhattanville College.  The Eagles fell to Manhattanville 25-16, 25-15 and 25-20 but showed their true character in the third set as they stayed even with the Knights for most of the set and never gave up on the match.  This intangible is a credit to the leaders on the team and the chemistry this squad developed through the year. It was a successful year on many fronts although the record may not have indicated that success.  Samantha St. Germain was yet again a major force on the court while the duo of Chanice Sears and Kareemah Muhammad on the outside created most of the offense for the Eagles.  But the pleasant surprise on the night was the play of Subhana Wrights who had 4 kills on 7 attempts and 1 block solo to cap off her first ever volleyball season.

But perhaps the most intense match came later though, when he upperclassmen took on the freshmen for bragging rights.  In a tightly played match, the upperclassmen took home their honor while the freshmen were left to ponder what went wrong.

In the following match,  the coaches joined the freshmen side.  Although the upperclassmen felt full of confidence,  it was clear that they feared the coaches' skills.  The upperclassmen played hard,  but the experience,  talent and intelligence of the coaches was too much for the older players to deal with in the end and the freshmen got to taste victory at the end of the night.
